IM LAUGHING SO HARD. MY FRIEND KNOWS THIS GIRL WHO HAS SOME OLD YEAR BOOK FROM MARSHALL H.S. AND SHE FOUND LEONARDO DICAPRIO AND THIS IS HIM FROM WHEN HE WAS A JUNIOR AND HE LOOKS LIKE A FUCKING 9 YEAR OLD

That’s because he was. Di Caprio was 10 when he graduated High School. A genius with an I.Q. of 144, Di Caprio completed college at 14 before beginning his acting career. He has two degrees, a Master of Engineering and a Sociology B.A.
Di Caprio also notably invented the antenna which makes modern cell phones work while he was still in school. The profits allowed him to try out acting, his ideal job and meet Gus Van Sant, who cast him in his first role. That lead to Titanic with James Cameron, for which Di Caprio doubled as a scholar on the physics of how the ship broke apart.
But none of that is squat compared to his work on the SD card. Still in college, he developed with two others the miniaturization technology that makes the SD Card so small, and for that work he was granted a Nobel Prize for Physics and Engineering in 1998, the same year he failed to earn an Oscar for his work in 1997’s Titanic.
Di Caprio mostly acts today, but in his spare time he’s working with Harvard’s Engineering department on a computer chip that will teach computers how to fix themselves from viruses and crashes, and even data erasure from solar flares or other magnetic phenomena. If successful, this too will not be eligible for an Oscar.
He’ll simply never get one. It’s sad really.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT ACTUALLY
THIS MAKES ME REALLY HAPPY

he was 100% against preaching to unwilling people, too, and all for bringing religion into the lives of those who wanted it. he would often say that those who pray loudly in front of others were the worst kind of believers

what a cool dude

it makes me sad when people mischaracterize jesus like he was literally the nicest dude ever like he could be anyones bff if he tried because he was so rad like i hate christians who make him seem rude like lol no stopv

YES YES YES.
this is because the pharisees would go out into public, get on their knees, and pray where everyone could see them.
because they wanted everyone to see how good they were and how pious, because they were sort of religious authority.
but jesus came and told people to do the opposite, because he wanted them to be humble.
because God wants you to be devoted to a relationship with Him, not to be devoted to making sure others think highly of you.
jesus also encouraged people to do good deeds quietly, or even anonymously.
because he wanted you to do good deeds for the sake of others, not for how good it’ll make you feel or for others to praise you.
jesus was the absolute coolest and i fucking hate it when anyone points fingers at a certain group of people and says “GOD HATES-” NO HE DOESN’T.
THAT WAS HIS WHOLE THING. HE LITERALLY LOVED EVERYONE. ????

This is the type of Christianity and Christians that I like.

How about some love for a good police officer?

Officer Gaetano Acerra

Responded to a call where a 13 year old boy didnt want to live in his home anymore. He found out that the family couldnt afford a bed or much else for the teen.

So he bought him one. A big queen sized one.

He also bought him a Tv and someone donated a Wii, so now they play whenever Officer Gaetano Acerra has a chance

He also plans to get him a dresser, mirror, and a hamper. Among other things he needs but cannot afford.

People. They’re not ALWAYS a bunch of bastards.

The corruption needs to go.
This guy can stay.

Indigenous People’s Day Photo Project 2013

"Dear Columbus…"

Olympia, WA

Yes. YES. Fuck Columbus forever.

I’ll always distinctly remember being a -child-, maybe 7? and even then being so horribly angry about Columbus. I was originally vocal about it. The real kicker? I quickly learned to shut up about how I felt.
I tried to talk about how infuriating it was to learn how Columbus invaded and destroyed an entire native people. And every adult I talked to tried to convince me everything Columbus did was totally okay. Apparently children aren’t supposed to learn about Columbus and find him to be anything but ~brave~ and ~adventurous~ or some shit.
I’m still, even now, fucking appalled anyone, ANYONE, could so easily and thoughtlessly try to indoctrinate a small child into accepting genocide of native people. It’s …disgusting, and so extremely telling of how far our culture will go in its dehumanization and erasure of the violence native people endured and continue to endure at our hands.

So. Yes. Fuck Columbus.
I hope someday we all celebrate Indigenous People Day and only remember Columbus for his crimes against humanity.

7 Things I Wish Parents Would Stop Teaching Their Children:

goddess-river:

  1. That nudity is inherently sexual
  2. That people should be judged for their personal decisions
  3. That yelling solves problems
  4. That they are too young to be talking about the things they’re already starting to ask questions about
  5. That age correlates to importance
  6. That interacting with someone of the opposite sex is inherently romantic
  7. That the default for someone is straight and cisgender
